Our Commitment to Healthy Animals and a Healthy Planet

We are committed to environmental responsibility and a healthier planet. One way of keeping the environment healthy means solving for waste. Environmentally friendly solutions, like freeze-dried live vaccine spheres and 100% recyclable packaging, are some of the ways we are working towards a cleaner future.

SPHEREON is a novel vaccine formulation technology for the storage and preparation of live poultry vaccines. This revolutionary technology freeze-dries live vaccines to small, highly soluble spheres that dissolve quickly and completely in water, with no residue, making it easier and less wasteful to administer. It can then be administered in the most efficient way for poultry farmers, whether it be a spray, eye drop or drinking water.

Importantly, the vaccine is packaged in 100% recyclable aluminum cups instead of traditional glass vials, making it not only more efficient for poultry farmers, but also supporting the environment with limited, recyclable packaging. The aluminum cups are easy to dispose of, by just rinsing with a chlorine solution, stacking them together and offering them for aluminum recycling.

Planting trees is another important way to restore the planet’s natural resources. That’s why we’re continuing our Tree Planting Initiative partnership with WeForest, which has resulted in the planting of over 25,000 trees on three continents since 2016. WeForest is an international nonprofit association engaged in large-scale sustainable reforestation and reduction in plastic pollution.

With the help of poultry veterinarians and producers who use our products, we will continue to partner with WeForest in the years to come, planting even more trees.

And we’re also including our own employees. Many of our offices around the world distribute tree seeds to employees to plant in their own gardens.
